Hi all,
I wanted to give you an update regarding my faucet after 80 days of running.
Here is the screen from my admin panel:
Some comparison from my last update:
I see people also started playing the games I've added and the house edge is making a decent profit.
Now let's have a look at some graphs, where you can also see the growth of the faucet.
It's clearly visible by the number of satoshis given away per day, that the traffic has increased.
Reason for the two empty days is pretty simple. I got hit badly by some bots, which claimed over 100k satoshis a day. The good thing is, as I'm approving each cashout manually I did not loose the money. So I've decided to remove all the claims from the day and ban those suckers.
Speaking of bots and the increased activity. I was not able to deal with it, meaning my faucet was given far more satoshis out I was able to pay out. I was making loss. So I've changed some parameters.
I had to do this and next weeks will show if the traffic drops. I'm expecting a drop as the faucet is not anymore that lucrative for the users. From my perspective I want to run the faucet with a positive balance, so the money I get from the ads is more than I'm giving out.I wanted to give you an update regarding my faucet after 80 days of running.

- Number of account increase of 150%
- Number of claims increase of 780%

- You can now claim every 60 minutes
- Minimum claim is now down to 30 satoshis
Now coming to the goals I've set myself in my last post.
- Alexa rank under 1 Million - I did not achieve this, the faucet still needs more traffic to come under 1 Million. The rank now is just over 2 Million
- Keep an eye on the spending - This I mentioned in my post above. I had to reduce the money I'm giving out, as I was running in a loss
- Invest time to check other successful long running faucets - I didn't do much here, few of them I'm using every day also decreased their daily spending, so I think that is the trend and the right strategy to go forward with the faucet
- Optimize banner placement - Also here I did not do much, but I noticed by changing one banner to a new place made the page more mobile friendly. Looking forward seeing the results if the mobile traffic will increase with it
- Decouple from Faucetbox - Not completed, I will need to invest time to it, but I think I will wait for couple of months, maybe when I get under 1 Million Alexa ranking and can use new advertising networks to increase my earnings. So this is for now on hold.
- Keep an eye on the bots - My money is safe, as each cashout is approved separately, but I still want to avoid being hit by the bots and abusing the system. I don't want to run into the same issue and have to reset the results as some of the honest people also took a hit from it.
- Monitor the traffic - After the major changes, by increasing the time between the claims and lowering the minimum claim amount, I'm expecting a drop for the daily traffic, which may also result a drop in my daily earnings from the site. It's matter of finding the optimum setup to run the faucet and not making loss. Long term, I still want to increase my traffic in order to boost my Alexa ranking.
